And by big show of course i mean the much anitcipated Jessica-Sara reunion in which we will dominate the thrift stores of good ol’ Reno. Reno will not know what hit it. Jess and I are a force to be reckoned with.
So in preparation of this sister week I went shopping of course! Practice makes perfect. It was another glorious shopping event at Savers, man I love that place, lemme tell you… it was crowed and full of pushy rude people, but I made out like a bandit. Sooo many amazing finds, my money was well spent.
Let me share with you the goods!
This is a cute 3/4 sleeve black forever 21 sweater! Reno is starting to get cold, so it is a perfect right now. I paid $4.99. It looks great with skinny jeans tucked in to some great black knee high boots.
I got this grey cardigan/shrug for $6.99. It is comfy and warm. I personally love putting this over a wife beater and some jeans. Love it.
I call this my pretty girl shirt…lol… I love how just pretty this shirt is. it is uber feminine and flirty. I wore it wine tasting, got a bit drunk, but had a great time doing so :)

and of course being the classy chic I am, here is my 7-11 bathroom photo of my wine tasting outfit!! LOl, once again my pretty girl shirt, thrifted from savers, $3.99, levi jeans thrifted $7.99, H&M jacket $6.99, belt was girfted from Jessica, and the purse is a Coach, (not thrifted, just a girft from my amazing husband)
While I was on this shopping adventure my shoe broke, i cried… It was terrible moment for me… But luck for me i found these… they were $3.99 thrifted from Savers and the perfect replacement for my newly deceased sandals….
Cute and warm thick knit sweater. I loved the neck and the pocket in the front. It is super comfy and warm. I am excited to wear it when it snows, which could be any day… I live in Reno, NV it snows in June. I paid $5.99 thrifted from Savers.
Every girl needs a pretty, sparkly goingout shirt… this is mine, well one of my many! I fell in love with this shirt the minute I saw it. I LOVE sparkles!! It was awesome, I paid about $8.00 for it.
This is my happy wall. I have the amazing Marilyn Monroe! I love her I have her tattooed on me twice, and will be getting more I’m sure. BUt also this is where I put my acessories! I love this wall… hence the reason I named it my wall of happiness lol
Well there you have it, my practice run for the big show. Jessica’s trip is around the corner and I am sooo freaking excited! I cannot wait to see her and to kick Reno’s ass with our thrifting, here we come and theres no stopping us when we get going!
I will probably have one or two more practices before she gets here lol… I’ll let ya know :)

I learned something about myself whilst thrifting yesterday. When I am stressed/emotional, I have no business being in public, around people. I lack the patience to deal with rude/inconsiderate people on any one of my full blown happy days, but when I’m operating on my last nerve, I’m the first to scold someone for being an asshole. Possibly a character flaw of mine.
Saturday morning was not a good morning for me. Had to jump out of the shower mid-shave to wait for a phone call from my mom that brought nothing but bad news and I realized that I could punch the people who cancelled Jericho (how many years ago? lol. I just started watching this show on Netflix, and I love it) for ending it the way they did. So, seeing my crazed mood, Chris very unselfishly sent my booty packing on up to Amvets (he had already told me “no shopping” this weekend so, I think he did it so he didn’t have to deal with my craziness). Those poor hipster kids and inexplicably rude middle aged women with their fifty kids wreaking havoc on the other shoppers didn’t stand a chance. Maybe I need to find a new store. Half the time, Amvets is stuffed to the brim with pushy people and screaming children. But, I do live in the “ghetto” area of San Diego, that place is huge and so close to my house that walking with few bursting bags isn’t an issue… Maybe I just need more patience. Plus side, I find shopping very calming and when I left the store, I was relaxed and even tempered. Well played my Mister, well played.
(Side note for ya: If you happen to find something that is so irresistible, but get it home to find that there is a very faint, but huge stain on it, use Rug Doctor spray and a soft bristled toothbrush. I have a white blazer that had a light grey stain that I didn’t notice until after I had washed and dried it. Last night, I attacked it with some RD and the very much so set-in stains are gone. Poof. That shiz is magic)

In less than a month, I’ll be flying to Reno for a four day long shopping trip with my other (sisterly) half. The hubby is going to florida for five days for a dive convention and since I can’t go along and will miss him in a miserable, opened-mouth sobbing, snot running down my face kind of way I’m seeking solice in my number two (not really, I’m not that codependent, but I will miss him).
When Sari and I team up, our shopping trips are a no-holds-barred kinda deal, and since I’m only bringing roughly $150-$200 with me, I figured I should make a list of what I’m gonna look for to keep me reigned in. Nothing crazy specific, more like guidelines.
1. Corduroy Pants (browns, oranges or reds)
4. Long Sleeved Maxi Dress
5. Long sleeved mini or midi dress
6. Button ups for work
7. Colorful cardigans
8. White, black, grey, and or striped blazer
9. Anything striped
10. Over the knee boots and wedged ankle boots
11. Cape (any color)
Sara and I are mapping out our exact itinerary so that we don’t waste a moment. We have two Saver’s, two Goodwills, a Salvation Army and a Plato’s closet to hit. We totally got this! ;)
Anyone else plan out their thrifting trips with lists, specific or otherwise? Or am I just slight OCD? lol!

I just downloaded the entire Nsync discography. No joke. All five or six of their albums. Currently rocking out to them right now and feeling like I’m in middle school again. Ah… Memories. I actually waited in line for like 15 hours for tickets to their concert. We had terrible seats with an awesome time, and at 12 years old I was convinced Lance Bass would JUST KNOW I was there and that he was my soul mate. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be and we both had to move forward with our lives (HA!).
Now, the only real reason I’m getting away with listening to these golden hits from my youth is that my amazing hubby is tolerant of my nostalgic musical moments (I have and regularly play Miss Britney Spears and the country music I grew up with) no matter how much he despises it. And he’s asleep right now, so he can’t bitch about iTunes. :D
We had a bbq at beautiful Lake Murray today. T’was a perfect San Diego day and there was no way we weren’t going to do something. So, we did what we do best and tossed together a little shindig. It was fun and the lake makes for a good backdrop.

I had intended on wearing wedges with this (see below) but Chris is great at talking me out of wearing heels… I sent a picture of this to Sara and she said it reminded her of Audrey Hepburn, which I took as good, so I rocked it. Pretty happy with it, I must say
My entire outfit came from The Salvation Army during a $2 sale (woo!!), and the shoes I was going to wear were thrifted from Amvets this morning for $2.50.
And now, my hubby is waking up and I must go serenade him with the beautiful lyrics of my childhood crush and his boyband cohorts… Because he LOVES when I do that.

San Diego seemed to bring out the fashionista in me :) I put together some great outfits. I didnt really get to shop like I wanted to but I took the inspration of beautiful San Diego and made some great going out outfits.
Hopefully you like them! The pics are not that great of quality I had my blackberrypoor lighting and a full length mirror… I made the best of what I had.
This was my airport outfit! I bought that shirt at Burlington (my absolute favorite non thrifting store! Soo cheap) I think I paid $6.00 for the shirt. The jeans are Guess thrifted for $7.99 at Savers, the shoes were thrifted in Reno for $3.99. You cant really seem them, but they are great black and cork wedges, about 5 inches tall.
This skirt just screams sexy to me! I LOVE a great pencil skirt! This was a going out bowling outfit… ha ha ha…. I actually also paired this skirt with a polo the next day to make a business casual outfit for my conference. The shoes are sparkly platform pumps I bought at Buckle for (UGH) like $50.00. I bought them for a Christmas Party so I was kinda able to justify that amount :/. The skirt was thrifted at savers for $3.00 (50% sale!!!!) The shirt was also thrifted at Savers for $2.99 and the belt was from Goodwill for $3.50. I LOVED this outfit. I got so many complements on my skirt :).
This picture is kind of dark… sorry. This is my going out outfit for the week. We went out Wednesday night and surprisingly Downtown San Diego has a lot going on on a Wednesday… who-da thunk it??? So This is my short little brown dress, thrifted from savers…. Yes I had shorts on underneath it…lol… no wadrobe malfunction here. I danced my ass off in it! The shoes are from savers as well, I thrifted them a few weeks ago also from Savers. The necklace was bought at a Jewelry Party.
These were bought at a store in San Diego called the Pink Zone. I have never been to that store, but it was great! New stuff but really cheap. It was an outlet store, which I love…. So while these werent exactly thrifted, they were just to awesome to not share.
So there you have it, my first “model” pics!! Yay… hope you like the outfits… I am pretty proud of the fashionista San diego helped me to become. :)
